The First Hundred Days—How Will They Affect Men and Dads? (Call for Submissions)

The Inauguration.

Confirmation of nominees.

The Women’s March worldwide.

“Alternative facts.”

A LOT has happened since January 20th—and we’re going to write about it.

Join our editors and writers as we chronicle the first 100 days of President Trump’s time in office, from the leftover hypermasculinity of the campaign to the new spin rooms we’ll all be talking about, and beyond.

How will this affect men, dads, guys, and the common “man” we all think is voting for our party or side (no matter who we are).

Help us out.

Let’s write together—from personal anecdote to ethics and values to insightful commentary on today’s issues (and tomorrow’s dividing lines).

Join us as we “witness” the first 100 days—together.

The #First100Days series will “bear witness” to the next 13-14 weeks of the Trump admin and the climate in America and respond openly in writing, dialogue, co-writing, and debate in the hopes of fostering better communication among writers and partisans alike (although the essays and pieces do not have to be political in nature). We’re looking to help give voice to honest and thematic essays from all layers of the political spectrum and across all GMP sections.

For example:
– Explaining what “alternative facts” or “pussyhat” are to the kids
– How men stress over time when their “man” isn’t in office (and they don’t feel like they’re “winning”)
– The “Great Man Theory” and alternative leadership models
– Health/Mental Health challenges, policies, and hopes/fears during the next administration
– How to talk to your neighbor about ________________ in an age of hyper-partisanship
The idea is to do “100” posts about men’s issues specifically in light of the new administration.

The Good Men Project is different from most media companies.

We are a “participatory media company”—which means we don’t just have content you read and share and comment on but it means we have multiple ways you can actively be a part of the conversation. As you become a deeper part of the conversation (Which really is “The Conversation No One Else is Having), you will learn all of the ways we support our Writer’s Community—community FB groups, weekly conference calls, classes in writing, editing platform building and more.
